In the modern life, stress is often seen as something to manage or reduce — a physiological response to pressure, workload, or difficult emotions. While this view is valid, there is a deeper understanding found in the Buddha’s teachings: to understand Stress (or Dukkha) not just as a feeling, but as a truth of existence that can be investigated, and ultimately transformed. And it is through mindfulness and meditation that we cultivate this awareness to support this investigation.
In this short workshop, we will gently explore stress through both modern psychological models and the lens of traditional path of liberation. Through guided reflections, shared inquiry, and mindfulness practice, you will be invited to relate to stress with curiosity and compassion, and to discover how even unpleasant experiences can be doorways to deeper wisdom and freedom.
The community event is open to all who is keen to learn about mindfulness and meditation. It is offered freely by Carmen Teo, a dedicated meditator in the Vipassana tradition for 18 years, mindfulness teacher, Certified Teacher of MBSR, MSC and UCSD CFM’s MBSR Teacher Mentor.
